I just had to spend some time reading the comments after watching this gem. After all those facts Will dropped, I knew some heads would explode. The facts may be, shall we say, inconvenient for some of you, but he's 100% correct start to finish, like it or not.

The “Rebadged Batteries” often have lower cycle life. It’s like we’re buying their leftover junk. So we can compete on price. 🤔
Not only are there examples where we invented the tech, but also examples where “we” paid for its development then fumbled the ball and China ran with it and now sells it back to us. I see a lot of bashing on various platforms across my many hobbies and interests of Chinese made stuff being “junk”, but the truth is you can have things made to any level of specification and quality, and often it is the importer/reseller/consumer demanding that a widget be low cost high profit over quality made and long lasting.

I work in the ship building and repair industry. In the time it takes the US to build 1.5 very large cargo carrier ships, South Korea can build 100 and China can build 200.
when I was there riding the high speed rails and looking at the gorgeous cities when I came home, I felt like I had time traveled back 100 years in time. I’ve seen the future and it is not here.
