A VERY SCARY WEEK IN THE HOSPITAL !

Miss Patti, as an OR nurse for 33+ years, I have been glued to your post. I follow your make-up tutorials btw, and now use Elf for all my make-up, so thank you for that. I knew you had fluid overload as soon as you said you felt better the night you couldn’t sleep and propped yourself up. Being the patient is always a very scary situation, isn’t it. I am so very glad you are on the mend. I’m also glad you went to the ER as soon as you started experiencing symptoms. Sounds like your hospital took very good care of you. I had a massive stroke May 20 at work (I’m 70) and only been in the hospital once 40 yrs ago to have a baby. I know what a traumatizing situation you went through. They got me to the hospital by helicopter and got the clot out in record time. I needed no rehab and have been back to the job I love for 4 weeks now. Thank for telling your story. Sometimes things just happen but I am very grateful for both of us!

I've had 30 years of experience with kidney stones. I ended in the E.R. once. They're horrible, but since I changed my way of eating and drinking I haven't had one in 3 years. I was having 2 a year before that. I hope you never experience that again.

Oh you poor dear! Why in the h*LL did they start fluids before doing the scan to see what size, and where the stone was? That is proper protocol!!! You never force fluids until it is clear the urethra is unobstructed. That's a law suit right there. Almost every hospital, ER or urgent care have been using scannable patient barcodes for over almost 2 decades now. I'm just so glad you're doing better, you're so precious to so many of us. ❤

My mothers kidneys were giving her trouble so they loaded her full of fluids and it was more than she could handle and their actions caused her lungs to fill up with fluid and she actually went into congestive heart failure. They nearly killed my mother. When I said I wanted the doctor off her case that Doctor had the audacity to come into her room and confront us for being upset and demanding that she be taken off the case. I truly feel for what you went through. I know it is absolutely overwhelming if not terrifying. I’m so thankful you’re out and feeling so much better.
