The Anbernic RG SP is an iterative update from its previous clamshells, but better suited for a more genuine GBA experience: 3x integer scale screen, improved controls, and modern conveniences compared to the original GBA SP. The RG SP isn't up for sale yet, I'll add links when it's available (early August). Now we just need them to make one of these with the same case but with sticks and a 3.5” 4:3 display
It's nice to see Russ dabbling in Youtube Shorts
This is a very short video—30 minutes. Russ's honesty must be respected.
Just got to work. Gotta raid the break room for a snack and drink.
7 year old me would've had my mind blown at this.
Ok that's it, this will be my first gaming handheld!
Oh man, I already have the the first SP but I think I need this upgrade.
"Not a lot has changed in the last 23 years" My joints...
1:01 You can't just play this just like this without some elaboration! I was almost thinking this gizmo got a built-in gyro and thought it could play the 2 motion controlled GBA games.
Glad I didn't get the 35xxsp or the 34xxsp. But will wait for more color options..
Quick video = 30 minutes. That's why we love you!
I would like cobalt blue
Gotta say i really like how much bigger the rg35xxsp was when i got it. I compared it to my old gameboy and realized that the og gameboy is waaaayyy smaller than i remember and is frankly now too small for my adult hands. I'm glad anbernic seems to be trying to improve their models and make a better, more definitive edition of the sp model. Speaking of the hinge, I did have an rg35xxsp models hinge break, and those things are just hopelessly complicated to fix.
I have an odin portal and often feel like I need to get an SP like device for my Game boy games. But then I remember I do not play games away from my house and my portal is enough. Just that feeling you get seeing these awesome devices
There is no better place to learn about cable compatibility of Chinese handhelds outside of this channel. The care Russ puts into finding incompatibilities is truly outstanding - seemingly more than the manufacturers themselves! Thank you for the great information as always, Russ!
I don't at all need one but dang I'm tempted to pick up that pink one because I have really good memories of my pink GBA SP
My original SP just died so this is perfect timing
I would personally like to see an RG 40 XX SP, I am old and get eye strain from my 35 xxSP, but I love it so a larger clamshell screen would be most welcome.
My RG35XXSP not charging with one of my chargers always confused me and I never knew why, I like getting the unexpected explanation behind that here
I might be in the minority here but I want a 34XXSP with the T618 or any chipset that can comfortably play up to PS2/GameCube without generating too much heat at this size and a 4:3 display. The Rotate is so close to being perfect. If it had sticks (and a headphone jack), it would be endgame for me
