My dad is a mechanic and the amount of times he said the owners would scam the customers is wild. He now owns his own little shop and I’m proud of him, many people go to him because he’s honest and will charge you what the cost actually is. He always buys the parts for the customer since he gets a discount so they won’t have to pay more and he also doesn’t charge more for buying it. It’s crazy how many people get scammed because they just don’t know about their cars. Mechanics shop owners are one of the biggest scammers you’ll encounter, even if you read the manual just to learn something or make a google search idk but honestly be careful because not everyone is honest or cares.
