At this point you are buying LPDDR4x RAM with a Raspberry Pi 5 attached to it
The price you saw on that viral tweet is from PiShop, a Canadian shop, hence why it costs nearly half a grand Canadian Dollars, not American Dollars.
AI, the gift that keeps on taking...
Remember when a pi zero was included in a magazine? I miss those days
remember when they included a pi zero with a magazine? I miss those days
Things are just getting way too expensive, even small devices like the raspberry pi... That's so sad.
Remember when you could get an n100 mini PC for $100
What the what? But some RAM that I bought for $179 back in September is going for $1,000 now. It just blows my mind.
one day we will have cheap hardware again, one day
the $420 that is the price in canadian it blows i miss my $40 pi's
Welcome to Bizarro World where Jeff says not to buy a Pi. Seriously, this is a good little piece by Jeff on how to get though the current price absurdity.
My weather station is simultaneously encoding and streaming a 720p video to youtube, and a (separate) mp3 audio to an icecast server. And what kind of hardware is it? It's a Pi 3B+ My point is, if used correctly, old hardware can still do great things with an outdated processor and minimal memory. We just need to pick the right tools and software for the task. Gone are the days of cheap hardware. We need to learn not to always buy the most beefy ones.
remember when they marketed it as "$5 PC"
Rasbeery PI ; oh sorry, 'Le Rasbeery PI'.
The biggest deal about the original 1b when I got it was that it was for beer money. The current state of things is really a shame.
1:38 "It is such a bad deal right now." Ok but how accurate is your "right now"?
I miss the time when they sold the Pi Zero for only $5.
saw this on twitter and i knew you would make a video on it lol
7:07 So the main channel is the other one, haha
$300.. let that sink in..
