Why riders wrap wire around their grips

Never done this

As a mtber I get lock on grips

I personally do both xD idk just most safe what i thinked snd it just stayed

grip never come off of The Wire. Also really important when you snip the end of that Twisted wire make sure to tuck it into the rubber of the grip so that way it doesn't poke you trying to grip it.

My throttle tube made me get rid of lock on. I thought id hate glue grips but i love them. Everytime i change my oil i throw a fresh set of grips on i use glue + wire. I usually wire under my grip donut and the end. Some Odi grips have an indent for it. Ive had them spin as a kid not worth it. You don't even know its there. If you do it Beat the cut end facing away from you!

I have all ways wrapped duck tape and paintinters tape around the bars for my klx and put soap in the grip then put the grip on the tape and never had a problem

Hairspray

I filed deep cross hatches where my grips are, even deeper than the knurling then comes on some bars and never had glue come loose in over 20 years of riding.

Or buy lock on grip? With a bolt to tighten to keep them in place.

I use max hold hairspray, works better than glue every time

Rather have slippy grips than dealing with razor sharp wire around them😂

I have always wired mine but because it was easier not for that reason

This was the way before lock on grips came out. Motocross guys would do this. I always wire tired mine.
