I've put fat tyres on thin rims but not the other way round ......why ? Would U do that ?

But why put a narrow tyre on a rim that size? What is the advantage of that?

No tire shop in the US would take a chance on the liability of exceeding the recommended rim width of the tire like that.

That tire remembers it original shape. One good pothole and it will bounce back.

Back in the 60 and 70 people would add a section to make the steel wheel wider a put a tube in the tire to do this but it was for dune buggys back before wide tires were cheaply available.

That rachet strap trick only works on bias ply tires, anything with a radial belt will not ompress that way. The real trick is that air tank with the huge valve to dump a massive air volume to expand the sidewall.

When you see a vehicle that is "slammed and roached" say: "Hey buddy, your rims are on inside out!"
