I had a 97’ 2 door civic. Little thing ran on 3 cylinders for about 30k miles before the odo stopped working at 310k miles. Gave it to my neighbor, who rebuilt the engine and it’s still on the road to this day
Car companies have come a long way since then. Now they make sure engines can’t do that

In 1997 I saved up and bought a new Aprillia Rs125 2 stroke. With three top-end rebuilds it lasted a full 25,000 miles! You read that right, twenty five thousand miles from brand new. God bless highly strung Italian engineering.
