Bought an 2008 vdj79 a couple of years ago with 400,000kms and I don’t regret anything, never had a problem and I don’t exactly treat it nicely😂

There was also a big change in 1999 when the first 79 ute was made, before they where the 75 series. the 1999 79 went from leaf to coil front end , a longer leaf in the rear and the cabin was also extended room behind the seat not sitting upright in the smaller 75 series. they also introducted the mighty FTE first basic electronic diesel in a ute or troopy. The HDJ79 Rv come with power windows, central locking, cup holders and the correct wheel track.

76 2011 owner so still a 70 series. Only car I've ever owned that's gone up in value and is reliable AF. They serve a purpose and are analogue. Not saying they're better than a GU but certainly much more enjoyable than the contemporary 4x4 plastic & electronic alternatives.
I bought a 2021 Troopy. Owned it for 9 months and sold it. Not a terrible car, just not worth the price. They do hold there value better than any vehicle though.
If only Nissan had put a V8 in the Patrol Ute and updated it's design.
Toyota's aren't reliable, they have parts availability everywhere. It's pseudo reliability. You can't change my mind.
I’m a farmer. I have a 2013 chipped and exhaust vdj79. Gear stick extension and door arm rest. Great work vehicle. Have a hilux duel cab for town Ute. Cruiser goes day in day in day out with 250000kms now carting 500kg of tools around farm and has done since day 1 mustering sheep, checking crops, spotlight and thermal night hunting. As a farmer in central nsw I think the 4cl auto is perfect for a farm vehicle personally. Tough, economical, simple, and an auto is spot on for mustering sheep constant stop start. All these cup holders and iPad infotainment, electric seat, prissy things made these days just don’t cut it. Will take one over the cruiser for a town Ute though any day. Cruisers are fit for purpose vehicles. F@#k having one as an only vehicle/daily. They really do bust your back. Mine included. Newer models with Prado/hilux seats are good though. Even what your interior will end up makes it non farm vehicle. But great to see another spin on a cruiser. Loving the build. Keep up the great job mate.
