I miss the times when you could buy an all new build for $500

I remember seeing a kit of 32gb vengeance rgb on sale for $50 but I held out to get something better, that moment haunts me every night.

Saw my Amazon history and there's multiple purchases of BNIB 32GB of DDR4 alongside 1TB SSDs spread across 2024 and 2025, all around the $50 mark. I miss those days.

It's crazy how todays 16GB DDR5 kit costs the same as a pre Q4 2025 64GB DDR5 kit

16gb of RAM is more than at least 90% of people will ever need, 16gb is absolutely fine for gaming

I built my latest rig before the insanity started. 32 gigs was cheap.

Please convince Arceus that I need a gaming pc to help defend the balance of the ecosystem.

I don't want to close every app before playing a game...

the thing to remember about RAM is that you either have enough or you don't. Using *almost* all your RAM doesn't have any performance penalty versus using a tiny fraction of it. It's only when you need more than you have that you start getting penalized... And if your page file is on a fast SSD, that penalty will be *much* lower than if it's on a spinner... (albeit at the cost of the SSD's lifespan getting burned up faster by the constant page file writes.)

I have a HP pavilion 13-8100 and a NVIDIA quadro k620 with a 180W PSU, I don’t know if I keep the psu and get a 3050 LP or get the 400W PSU upgrade and wait on the GPU any help please?🙏

I feel like 16gb is okay but since games are getting less optimized 32gb is just a sweet spot

Built my PC right at the beginning of 2025 and bought 64GB DDR5 for $200 in November of 2024… that kit costs 6 times as much now and I’m pretty happy I did that these days even though 64GB isn’t really necessary

Would you say 32gb (2x16) of ddr4 total is worth the upgrade coming from 9060xt 16gb, ryzen 5 5600x, and currently 2x8gb ddr4? (So not using the 2x8's because of them possible being instable if using 4x8gb) Price would be like ≈250€ or smth...
