I had a motorcycle wreck on a Honda 1300 VTX at 50 MPH, and as my body barrel rolled across the pavement, my helmet smacked the ground every roll. It saved my skull from being cracked

They should absolutely be mandatory, especially if seat belts already are for cars. Those rules are made for people too stupid to figure it out on their own.

This is the type of guy to see "Helmet mandate leads to rise in head injury for riders" and not realise it's from all the people who would have died but now didn't.

My friend is a trauma surgeon in a state with no mandatory helmets. They call such riders 'donors'. Trust me. Wear a helmet.
