The kookaburra’s in my garden recognises shovels, hoes and pick axes - any digging implement. When they see me carrying a digging tool they all appear out of nowhere then sit right next to me while I dig. They want to swoop down and get the bugs and worms that I disturb. Unfortunately they don’t understand the danger of a swinging tool and sometimes come very close to getting seriously injured! I’ve had to have someone else stand with me and scare off the kookaburra for fear they will land in the firing line of my pickaxe. They’re brilliant birds but enjoy scaring me regularly by swooping down around me with no warning

The one "knocking" on the window reminded me of a bird that often came to my grandpa's house when I lived there. It was a cheeky great tit, and it would sit on the windowsills and peck until it got either his or my attention, then move to the kitchen window while we got it some food 😂

Hearing them every morning makes my day. I just love the sound of Kookies so much. The fact they laugh is what makes me even happier. We have about 5 that sit on the lines every day, they are a family. I watched 2 of them grow up. They are so cute when they’re young. They make the most adorable little noises like they’re trying so hard to mimic their parents. ❤❤❤

Something I think more people should know about Kookaburras: They eat snakes. They grab them, fly up into trees and thrash the snake against the trunk to stun them, then keep thrashing them until they die and can be eaten. This is why they will steal sausages and sometimes smack them against trees before eating them, and also why they grab fingers, because they are snake-like.

The little babies are adorable the one sitting on his window probably hasn't been flying very long and he just got tired and needed a spot to rest it wasn't that it couldn't fly it was just too tired to fly there's a big difference😂❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉 knock knock who's there caca caca whó kookaburra
