Games need to be more optimized. Developers nowadays see an abundance of storage and memory and don't optimize as well as they could.

Well alongside 5090's being basically the top bench mark for games as well as high end CPU's companies literally don't prioritise optimisation as a main goal unless it's indie devs with even things that should run fine even on mid tier systems like Lego Batman being difficult to run at stable fps without issues.

I want to go back to the time where $2000 could get you a top of the line PC with maxed out specs. Now it only gets you a mid range PC.

In 3 years [or so] I'll be putting together a tippy-top end gaming PC that could be the last PC I ever buy/build. [I'm old...I could die]. Still, I do hope I can buy a GPU for under $10K. I guess we'll see...

I feel like my 5070 is sitting pretty. Yes… I can play any game on 1440p at around 180 fps or higher. Shadow of Mordor benchmarked around 360fps on default settings…

If i had 20K to spend on a computer i would still not go 5090. To worried about the crazy power use, power connector.. All that jazz. I would get the most baller 9070 XT and have someone really good watercool it, my CPU and CHIPset. I do not need it, but i would get 64GB of ram, plenty of storage.

A 5090 and 4090 aren't gaming cards, they are consumer enthusiast cards. They shouldn't be used as a benchmark for average gamers, 3060s should be the target.
