Intel's upped their efficiency game in a big way. The XPS 13 surprised me. Mentioned in this video: - Dell XPS 13: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/new-xps-13-laptop/spd/xps13dx13260laptop - MacBook Neo: https://www.apple.com/macbook-neo/ - My benchmark data for the XPS 13: https://github.com/geerlingguy/sbc-reviews/issues/111 - My benchmark data for the MacBook Neo: https://github.com/geerlingguy/sbc-reviews/issues/102 The XPS 13 shown in this video was provided on temporary loan from Dell. I am returning the laptop to Dell, and they had no control over the content of this video. Dell engineers must have been beyond heartbroken when they found they could no longer source 1366x768 displays and had to go with a higher resolution.
The irony of the MacBook Neo having a headphone jack while the Dell doesn’t
i love how every 6 months or so Dell XPS will pop up and say "hey guys you know that i'm quite good, not greatest but definetly good"
so basically they always could build them, but they never did.
Even if you despise Apple products, there's no denying that they help to drive competition!
Wait, a Windows machine is being chastised for not having a headphone jack while an Apple machine does, and for being a worse gaming machine than Mac? And it's lauded for being more power-efficient than a Mac?? What kind of a bizarro world is this???? 🤪
Good to see competition.
Although Apple ended up hiking prices anyways, the fact that they released the Neo for such a good price initially was a blessing to the consumer laptop market
700 dollars is now budget... We have come a long way
No headphone jack? What a joke.
Even if you hate Apple products, you can't deny that they help to drive the competition!
02:16 - Every single time we use Windows it just reminds us of how much more peaceful Linux really is and how bloated and stressful and annoying and unusable windows has become.
If only it had a headphone jack, somewhere, maybe near the front.
Too bad Dell couldn't hold the low price in Europe. At least at the Dell Germany shop the smallest version with 8 gigs of ram and a 512GB SSD is well above 1000.- Euros for regular users who don't qualify for the student rebate. The 16gigs Version is almost 1200.- Euros
2:00 courage. I’ll see myself out
Hearing $700 be explicitly called budget made me sad
the Copilot keys in KB is a crime.
No headphone jack is ridiculous on a laptop with only 2 USB C ports. It means that if you're charging the laptop and using headphones, you're out of ports.
The XPS 13 has 4 speaker drivers, a tweeter and woofer on each side. I wonder if the speakers are only using the tweeters, I've seen this issues before on some other laptops where the other two channels (the woofers) are unused unless configured correctly in Linux.
$700? it's €1200 for the 16GB!
