Longevity in tyres are a trade off with grip. You are paying for a better exchange rate, but I personally prefer grip, traction and stopping power.

tire no wear. tire no have traction. tire wear means friction. friction good. no friction bad. if tire no wear, no stop good. no stop good = dead. old tire used to last longer. old tire rubber hard like rock. rock no wear down. hard rubber last long, but hard rubber no grip road. slide everywhere. old tire kill many people. safety law happen. government say tire must grip. government make safety standard for braking and traction. now tire use soft rubber compound. soft rubber wears faster, but soft rubber bites road modern tire wear fast = safety law working. fast wear means high friction. high friction means stop good. stop good = you live.

To add on to what everyone else is saying, snow tires are made out of a softer rubber that wears faster because it deforms more, gripping into more textures on the road's surface. Harder rubber, which wears much slower, doesn't deform nearly as much and therefore has much less grip. I'll stick with the softer rubber compound if it means not getting in an accident in the winter.

Nokian is god tier. Their winter tires are the top ones imo. Studded hakks or bust

My Nokian on 2024 jeep wrangler 4xe wore prematurely only lasting 31k miles, this is some overhype.

Lee Conquest went broke, Tires were lasting 60,000 miles on Cabs.

Nokian is a fantastic company. Predominantly in Europe, but i bought them on Amazon over 8 years ago for my wrx.

I have 80k tires on my niro. They arent cheap but worth the extra fee since they are almost fault proof.

Best winter tires hands down

I was raised to buy the longest life tires because they were the best value. By my father, an auto mechanic no less. Over the years I was in several accidents. Just seems like life, especially with as much what time is I somehow seem to spend behind the wheel. Then one time the tire store was completely out of stock of my size tire except for some that had approximately half the tread life. I bought them because I had to have something, and the first time I had a panic stop in traffic I was shocked at how easily I was able to stop. Now I avoid the long life tires and intentionally buy the softer rubber tires. I saved some money on the transaction. I probably spend more in the long run, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper than even one accident.

I miss having Nokian Hakka' Snow Tires on my old Saab...

If memory serves me correctly it was the Goodyear Vector……replaced by the wrangler line

O wish I could find a truck tire that would hold up like those old school carlise 589s. Ran them on a old 4trax for legit over 10 years and they still had over half tread when I sold it.

This is an urban legend/myth. . Nokian opened thier first U.S. plant in my home town a few years ago. Thier passenger vehicle, SUV and light truck tires are manufactured in Dayton, Tennessee. Nokian Remedy's, Nokian One and One HT, Outpost nAT and APT. The Nokian One is the best tire they ever made, has an 80,000 mile warranty with pothole protection and they didnt buy the design, it's thier own design, the sidewalls are made out of Aramid (bullet proof vest material). The only design Nokian has that is rebranded is the Nordman Hakkapellitta 6 and 7 which was thier own highly successful budget design which is now thier secondary budget line.
