Harley saw the video, probably made a call to the dealer and told them to say ITS NOT CHARGING and their franchise might be on the line.
I honestly would have ripped it apart. Replaced BMS and controller with a generic Chinese version to make it work. You should also consider the fact that those cells would now be dead because they have been out of charge for so long.
This is exactly why most people still prefer the 'old' stuff, stuff they can fix themselves and stuff that will last because of it. That dealer 100% got told by HD to just tell you it doesn't charge... why else would he call you to say it was charging and currently at 2%, say he then "called HD and they asked a bunch of questions", and then suddenly say it's 'not charging at all and I never said it was"... this stuff is so incredibly fishy man lol

Open it to the battery terminals use a power supply to add voltage to the terminals limit the current to 6 amps. When the current draw drops to 3 amps there should be enough voltage to start charging the battery. This is the procedure we use to charge all lithium batters with internal controllers that will not charge in many different devices. The battery simply can not charge at all if the voltage is at zero. You have to get the voltage up, just use a power supply that lets you control the current. Make sure the power supply is connected directly to the battery terminals not the charger terminals. You must also make sure the power supply used is capable of the battery’s voltage requirement.

I'm a locomotive electrician. When our batteries are completely dead the new chargers with computers won't recognize them. Won't charge at all. Sometimes we fool the charger by hooking up another set that has charge in parallel. The old analog chargers always work.
