In The Return (2024), Argos Waited 20 Years For Odysseus ❤️‍🩹

That scene in odyssey had me balling my eyes out. He stayed alive to see him one last time then peacefully breathe his last breath 😢

Same thing my pup did for me when he was close to passing. I was 15 minutes away. When I arrived I was told he was lethargic and hadn't moved in a couple hours. As soon as I walked in he rolled onto his back, I scratched his belly said my goodbye and he passed away in bed peacefully

The dog was the only one to recognize he’s masters returning. When he returned his own wife was being auctioned off of sorts and still did recognize him. Theres a reason this book has survived for so many generations. So many life lessons can be learned from the Odyssey

I left home when i was 14 to live with my dads side of the family. My mother got sick when i was 18. i woke up one random day and felt the biggest urge to go see my mother... December 28th 2016 i drove from St louis Missouri to Houston Texas. You should have seen the light in her eyes when i finally got home to see her... She soon passed about a week later on January 7th 2017. It was almost as if she was waiting for me... waiting to see me one last time... Her decline after seeing me again after so long was immediate. I cant imagine the suffering she endured.

That is the kind of loyalty you will never have from a woman or a man. Never abuse the most loyal creature in your life.

Man this evokes so much emotion. Anything involving this trope of lifelong unyielding bond with a spirit as pure, simple and fleeting as a dogs. I’ve seen multiple iterations of this story all equally as devastating. Dogs provide something to strive for as humans. They don’t judge you in any of the ways you or another person may, they’re not harsh like that, they just know you’ve treated them well and that’s all it takes. Their lives are so short relative to ours, and they don’t have a concept of time, any and everything is in the moment. They don’t understand the intricate complexities of the workings of the universe, they’re just know affection or the lack of. They have nothing, but can give you the most valuable resources this life has to offer. Truly man’s best friend

I had a dog die of cancer a couple years ago, I was gone for a couple days out of state and when I got home to check on him he was awake and alive but the moment I started petting him he closed his eyes and never opened them again

That was one of my favorite parts of odyssey, just seeing Argus realize he had return and letting death take them was so heart warming.

I keep telling people The Return was way better than the odyssey and this scene is proof that the dog scene alone was so wholesome and emotionally satisfying.

On the Nature of Daylight makes every scene 100x more emotional.

We humans are blessed with dogs. They are fur angels.
