You've reached the end
POV: A indie developer learns computer technology aside from programming.
We should use 5090s to start our fires at this point
Never been happier to have an RX 9070 XT 😬
Would you trust a free GitHub app to babysit a $2000+ GPU?
I honestly feel like using the 8 pin adapters would probably actually be safety at this point
So glad I went 7900xtx instead of 4090
There is an msi power supply that does this too.
The unsung heroes of github need a global recognition/appreciation day, these thankless champions have been helping humanity since 2008
Meanwhile me, with a generic 8 pin rtx 5060: 😎
For those that don’t know and want to be safe, you can get an inline power‑protection adapter. It Connects from the PSU’s 12V‑2x6 output to the adapter then to the GPU’s power socket and monitors per‑pin current in real time. If it detects an imbalanced load, overcurrent, or bad seating it automatically reduces power or shuts down the GPU before heat buildup melts the connector.
Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro II GPU for all cards that don't have build in sensor.
Nvidia rn: This Guy built it AT HOME! WITH A BIT OF FREE TIME!!!
We love you Zack
I trust Thermal Grizzly's Wireguard II. It monitors the connectors heat, individual pin amperage, total wattage, has a fan to cool the connector, an audible alarm when irregularities are found, and even a auto shutoff cable (if your pc case doesnt have a unified power button, hdd light pin system etc)
The astral cards have a built in warning with gpu tweak 3 I think is what’s it’s called ASUS gpu overlocking software
Before zack
This is a problem that 98% ppl doesn't have, gng I still use an gtx 770 ✌️
Well if u don't have those cards u can easily do a diy solution using a simple thermal sensor like lm37 or any other temparature sensor and just use a micro controller for warning and indication using leds and a buzzer if worse comes to worse u can even use a time delay relay to safely turn off the power
I’ve seen little adapters that you plug into the cards and plus your power cables into that. It prevents the fire issues.
Psu companies gotta add sensors and power draw watchdog to the end or starting point of the connector to give safety
