Buying a new OEM block just gives you another ticking time-bomb Alusil wall to score all over again. Machining it out for Darton ductile iron sleeves + forged pistons is the only way to permanently cure the M157. Also, check those direct injectors—9 times out of 10, a stuck injector washed that cylinder clean before it seized!

probably injector broke and the alusil block started to melt. That looks 100% melted piston and cylinder wall.
As someone suggested, a broken injector might have caused this to happen. Maybe this is why the fuel rail was loose in the first place. In that case, Trent definitely knew and replaced the bad injector.

That block can be fixed 100%, sleave it and new pistons. Done, no BS factory coating to worry about. Probably be the same cost if not a little bit cheaper than you can also run more boost

Fastest way to clear your shop is to place the fan about 2 feet from the entrance of your door (outside) and open one door. Will clear out in no time. It’s a strategy we used on the fire department in Detroit. Love the new shop Alex.
