R.I.P. to my uncle who passed in 2021, born in 1957. He grew up rocking out to Mountain. I can see him now in his truck, cranking this song, all treble, no bass and singing as loud as he can. Damn, I miss you, uncle. Rock on.

The main reason a lot of the songs from this era were short was to get Radio airplay. Specifically AM Radio, FM was more open to longer songs. If you want to see and hear "Mississippi Queen" on screen, check out the cult classic movie "Vanishing Point". The scene is 3/4 of the way through the movie, but I think you would enjoy it quite a bit. The whole movie is WAY COOL.
