"Hey" "Yeah?" "You ever wonder why we're here?"
Cortana being Clippy in a wig gave me quite the laugh
Yahtzee casually reminding me that I've been watching his reviews for almost 20 years now
Your punishment for not knowing there was a switch seats button for the Warthog is you must do a full Halo MCC playthrough with Nick.
2:23 Yahtzee being deep enough into the weeds to know the names of the covenant races, but then showing a Sangheili instead of a Jiralhanae is just the kind of thing that makes me think he's trolling.
We've come full circle; Yahtzee has become the gamer that needs the button prompts on-screen. There's a keybind to switch seats in the Warthog.
Technically only your shield came back automatically, Halo 1 did have a health system that you could only restore via health packs throughout the level. It was almost immediately abandoned moving forward except for a brief resurgence in the spinoff Halo 3: ODST Minor opening nitpick dealt with
You could say that the titular Halo is just one long corridor that wraps around and connects to itself, creating an effectively infinite corridor.
I can practically hear Nick Calandra grinding his teeth at the plot summaries xD EDIT: teach me to open my mouth. I just wanted to make a playful jape about Nick being a halo fanboy and now I have a lore argument in my replies. Whoops :p
Halo seems like it was really an evolution of Marathon’s design, which was mazes and corridors TO THE MAX
4:45 There IS in fact a seat switch button in campaign evolved
Corridor of the Soul is my favorite prog band.
3:31 As a long-time Halo fan who's not particularly interested in it being "remastered," I'm only commenting here to note that Chief is canonically *half* a ton in his armor.
"Is this what I sound like when I say the original Silent Hill 2 was better?" is one of those sarcastic quips that is ironically the best summation of peoples' opinions on any remake. Edit: I would appreciate everyone not sharing your opinions on what is wrong with remakes in my replies, but you are all equally valid. <3
I think the reason the voice acting stands out is because the actual direction of the scenes is much worse. There are these long pauses between sentences, and characters take so much more time to mug to camera it robs the scenes of any urgency or emotion which flattens out the perception of the characters.
I do think it's funny that Yahtz chose to represent PCs in 2001 as the current aesthetic of RGB Spaceships rather than the comparatively Brutalist Dell Towers of the era.
4:33 - Jokes on you, but the Halo fanbase would literally kill and deglove entire districts for doing something like that
It's fun actually to see the complaints Yahtzee has being fulfilled in Halo 2. Like there's even a final boss.
2:24 that's a Sangheili. The jiralhanae are the "brutes"
The true intro is: "I don't keep it loaded, so you'll have to find ammo as you go."
