how can gamestop call that ps5 refurbished when they didnt even clean out the bugs or re apply the liquid metal. its just a used ps5 not refurbished at all.

I dont get why gamestop overcharges their customers so much. We literally saved their company and this is the thanks we get overpriced used games and scalper prices for pokemon cards.
I worked for a major consumer electronics company. Refurbished units are usually customer or warranty returns, that get shipped to a factory that breaks down the parts, and determines what of the original electronic components/internals are salvageable. Most of the external or wear and tear parts are immediately discarded. They then test and clean the internal components, and use new cases/shells/fans/batteries to make service replacement or refurbished units. They can’t sell them as new due to various legal requirements, so it’s a great way to get a basically brand new console (with standard warranty) for less. Way different than what GameStop and other retailers do, which is cleaning and fixing up customer returns and trade-ins.
Gamestop stinks, never bought from them and I'll never give them a penny.

That’s unacceptable for GameStop to charge that much on something that was probably only plugged in, had a disc inserted, powered down and labeled “refurbished”. Moral of the story, DO NOT BUY USED CONSOLES FROM GAMESTOP
refurbished can refer to a system that was non-functional right out of the box. That would explain the immaculate condition of the items.

I’m pretty sure that when items are refurbished from the OEM, they keep major parts like the board and replace the shells. Thats why they look brand new.

I'd rather have scratches than gamestops sanding. Holy frick that looks awful. Add to it the fact they couldn't even clean out the bugs. I don't think I'm ever buying gamestop refurbished.

I bought a refurbished PlayStation 1 from Sony store at an outlet store in 1997. It still works.
