I get they're a protected species, but why can't you take the bones home if they're already passed away? Edit: Thank you comments for providing insight for me and others. Basically its to prove there was no poaching, as there no clear way to say it was a natural cause of death otherwise. Hence a strict policy

As a bone collector I’m gonna hit and run it. What do the authorities even want with them. They are bones. I have a forever home where they will be cherished and seen as a price and a valuable and treated with respect.
