I just searched. There is not 1 apartment for rent in Malaga for €500 this will infuriate locals the most basic available is €650 a month and that’s going to be in very sketchy areas or on the border of the municipality. A comfortable home in Malaga is at least €1500 to €2500. Workers who have jobs in the centre of Malaga are not able to live anywhere close they have to travel and if they work where there is a siesta they have 4 commutes a day. The beaches are massively overcrowded the locals have taken to beaches by wastelands to be away from tourism and to pay normal prices in chiringuitos. I have rarely seen a YouTube video that misrepresents a city more than this one. You are literally bragging about your comfortable life and the content I presume is for likes and to encourage yet more foreigners to a tiny city which has an acute housing crisis? People are going homeless because foreigners are forcing them out of their affordable homes. Which is why there are mass protests against tourism and foreigners. You should be thoroughly ashamed and I suggest you remove this. I lived I Malaga before and I live in a city inland so I know exactly the real situation. Shocked
500€ Per month??? Tell us to the locals where is at please. That it’s a really exception to the rule. For a one bedroom apartamento the average is 1000-1200€!
I love Spain, especially Malaga. I was there in the Navy for a couple of weeks over Christmas back in 1990. The people were so friendly. The food was so good. I can’t wait to get back there. I’m planning a trip back to Spain in 2028.
People moving to America for a better life are immigrants, but Americans move abroad for a better life are "Expats". Ironic

You misinform people, about housing and about health care! Housing is expensive here, as a resident- first five years are considered a temporary resident and have to pay a year ahead private insurance. Then, after 5 years you can apply for permanent residence , apply for public insurance and pay a monthly cost of public insurance ( to get an appointment to see a doctor take approximately 6 months to 1 year). Nothing is free in this world!
I got married in Malaga at hacienda Nadales this past May ! I’m still on a high from it.
Public healthcare is not free; it is heavily taxed by the Spanish government. She also fails to mention that she has to contribute into Spanish social security system. I am sure she pays rent and has to share the apartment, and her salary is a quarter of what she earned in the U.S. She is also assuming that most Americans work more than 40 hours per week. Notice she does not have a steady job, no mention of the high youth unemployment of 23.4%. Click bait.

A 500 Euro per month Apartment in Malaga ? Must be a dump in a very poor area. Not everyone gets National Health. For Expats you have to demonstrate that you are not a burden to the Spanish State, and must have a Private Health Insurance. You got your residence with a Pareja de Hecho... OK... That is not the rule, nor the standard to emulate. It is an exception. Most folks will not be able to do such a thing. I am glad that you are content. But, do not miss-lead the mass of naive folks back in the US Mainland who think they can live on the cheap in Spain. That is absolute bullocks. Spain is not cheap. But, cheap folks drink cheap wine and cheap beer, and have cheap tapas. Go cheap and all is low quality.
