I do bee work. I was deathly allergic to bees up until about 24 years old. Which is when I started. Got stung on my finger. My whole hand swelled to the point that I couldn't bend my fingers at all or it felt like they were going to explode

Swelling is the normal response to a sting. If you have trouble breathing then that means you're allergic.
That's not an allergic reaction. That's a normal localised reaction. It'll happen to anyone that gets a good sting the first time. An allergic reaction is systemic, not localized pain and swelling, and requires urgent medical treatment.
