This gadget claims that it can reduce 40% of your electricity bill, every month! We got the device online and it says that all you have to plug it in and turn it on. And it just starts working instantly. Apparently, it uses some “intelligent technology” to reduce your electricity bill, and it’s extremely popular on Amazon, Flipkart, JioMart, and even Meesho! The device says it has a load capacity of 15,000 watts, which is totally unbelievable, so we opened it up. Inside, we found that there are some LED lights, a wax-like part, and a capacitor.. that we usually find on fans. There’s absolutely nothing inside that can potentially reduce the bill. In-fact, it USES electricity to power these lights, rather than reduce your consumption.

Not just that, Dishwasher Installation technicians are scamming people by saying whirlpool invented a permanent water softener and tried to sell it to me for 2K. I knew a thing like that didn't exist. It even had Whirlpool printed on the box and embossed on the plastic tap like thing.
FYI, A capacitor can reduce reactive power drawn from the grid, which the consumers are charged for. But reactive power doesn't do real work, it can't turn on lights, or other appliances. So controlling the reactive power draw can essentially reduce the electricity bill, but such a small capacitor cannot do that single handedly, a huge capacitor bank must be employed along with complex circuitry to enable this. So the principle is correct, but the product is a scan.

if someone really wants to reduce electricity bill they can use APFC panel tho a normal house hold's power factor don't drop that much

For the uninitiated, the capacitor corrects power factor. Induction load reduced power factor, to counter it simply adding a capacitor helps.
It does something called as power factor correction, it can actually reduce power consumption but not for homes instead for commercial purposes. Watch electrboom video about it
