Don’t need a battery. Just touch the fob to the button.
I love my 2000 Honda Civic that just has a key and not these stupid fobs.
Mine has me press the button with the fob itself

Actual car keys are super cool
Ford put it in the center console bin so you have to empty all the crap out of it just to put the key in ! Thanks FORD NOTTTTT

New hondas you put it up to the button that starts the car
On a Nissan it just has a hole right there where you normally put your key at it's not hidden
My 99 Durango doesn't even need the fob just the metal key I can even get inside the car if the car battery dies and the key batter dies

if the battery is bad most cars wont let you in without the fob, thank god some manufacturers still give you a key but some i have seen do not.
On my ram 3500, I push the start button with the key fob if the battery is dead. No secret panel.
You can start your car, "even with NO battery"
I'd rather just have a turn key start, id pay more for a turn key start
That's also where you can program your fob for valet mode limit speed radio stations revs or for kids so they don't show of.
Why the hell does almost no one read their owner's manual anymore? If they did they would know stuff like this.
