The biggest reason it worked for these 2 movies in specific is bc they aren’t playing the characters to be racist🫥 they’re clearly not bigoted people. It didn’t feel hateful, that’s why it worked.

The things is that whole movie was a parody of a lot of things Hollywood does. He was was making fun of the foreign actors who always get into the roles with excessive weight or muscle or in this cases getting a surgery to change his skin color
