And the pilots flying off the ship have the same half cup of rice and a tortilla a day as the rest of the troops on that carrier. When Hegseth says they are getting everything they can provide to the ship, he is admitting he can't get supplies to the ship...

My dad worked with Sea Shepherd and now does commercial maritime and LOVES being at sea, he participated in chasing the poaching ship the Thunder and was at sea for 147 days total. He said he never wants to be at sea for that long again and they got resupplied and had working toilets, plus they had a tangible goal they were motivated to accomplish in bringing the Thunder to justice (the Thunder was eventually intentionally sunk by the crew and the officers went to prison). I can't imagine just being stuck on a ship with no tangible goal or timeline for when you're going home, absolute nightmare scenario. I'm not surprised people are trying to abandon ship, I'd rather drown or get eaten by sharks than spend over 200 days with barely any food and overflowing toilets in a steel box.
