Every part of this tech wаr against China has made China more self-sufficient and influential.
I hope RAM crisis really end soon.
DDR4 RAM that costed $15 dollars in year 23-24, now it costs $95. This is absolutely ridiculous jump 🤬😡😠
*I remember that in the late 1990s four of the largest memory chip companies burned to the ground in the same week and people thought it was a conspiracy as memory prices soared globally! Then years later it slowly got so cheap as they wiped each other out again! There was a period where it stabilized and we thought that it would be finally be stable forever but memory is a strange market of ''feast or famine''*
I worked in ic design for 30 years and your videos are spot on. 16:59 the image of a person looking at layout made me shutter. I did that for a long time. Great videos.
I hope RAM crisis really end soon. ......
YMTC (SSD maker) is helping CXMT to build the factory with their experiences to make them improve faster
Hearing NEC come up made me smile. I’m working at a facility that used to be NEC’s fab in the U.S. it’s now owned by Bosch doing SiC chips.
Love the animation, it helps to explain the topic really well

congrats on 500k subs Anastasi!🎆
All major countries should be building foundries and RAM factories. Being so dependant literally makes zero sense.
As a kid I became fascinated with computers, learned assembler and ended up having a career based on it. That initial fascination never faded, and now that I approach retirement I recognise your enthusiasm for the subject and it makes me smile. Keep up the great work ! It is not your usual angle, but it would be interesting to understand the financial aspect of this race better. Who is truly behind it, stands to gain ?
Shared with 2 colleagues well before the give away part of the video. I watch because you have informative, accurate amd prescient content.
I think CXMT has the right strategy. The conventional computing industry has been starved of memory because of the AI boom. CXMT can supply those customers, and when the AI bubble bursts, the HBM manufacturers are going to find their old customers have gone and they are stuck with inventory they can't move. The west overvalues the next fiscal quarter. The Chinese are smart, they play the long game.
This had been only channel to watch regarding the frontier movements of the chip manufacturing industry, its in depth, informative without dumbing down the info and entertaining at the same time. Please keep up the good work!
When I was financing semiconductor companies in Silicon Valley decades ago, we did a convertible deal for Micron in Boise. Driving past the Micron campus a week ago, I was literally dumbstruck by the scale of the expansion of the physical plant.
There is no RAM crisis, it's all manufactured. There's plenty of supply, manufacturers are just artificially holding supply.
Actually China DOES NOW have UV lithograph, their machines are huge though, about five times the size of the ASML machines. They don't have the precise German optical lenses, so the UV light distance between mirrors is much longer. Also means the UV light isn't from plasma like ASML but from SSMB a much larger, higher energy, greater heat process.
That is one of the best analysis of semiconductor production and market I've ever seen.
