You've reached the end
That’s what you get when you allow corporations complete and total control.
Not only strain on electricity, also air pollution, noise pollution, light pollution. And how much are these monsters attributing to climate change? Mrs G
NIPSCO is 100% getting kickbacks on these data centers.
Thousands go without power so I can use AI to generate a picture of Spongebob with massive badonkadonks.
All of their elected officials need to be voted out, they are all complicit
As a Garyite this is the most accurate account of events I've seen thus far. Thank you for shedding light on the situation.
I knew we were all screwed, but I didn't know we were this screwed!
RULE #1: all data centers that are built the local officials & there familys are the first ones who have to live by them only as long as the data centers are opened!
Why are states giving these billion dollar corporations ANYTHING.
Thank Trump. He said " the people are begging for more data centers." It was his executive order that made data centers possible.
Gee, I wonder if that is why Indiana is without power??
Crappiest thing? Knowing that even if we kick the datacenter owners out of the towns... there's still going to be these HUGE buildings left behind, wasting space and taking up land that could be used for farming or even homes. No matter what the rich do they ALWAYS do more harm than good. And that crap lasts decades, if not centuries.
The people in Gary were stuck and suffering years before this. This is just another nail on the coffin
Thank you for reporting on this crisis in Gary, Indiana! I live in Indianapolis and didn’t know of this until last night! As an African-American I know why Indiana government are apparently ignoring the people.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Indiana is a conservative shitshow. Lived here my whole life. Until DSA has the balls to move in we won’t get a Dem candidate worth a damn…
Don’t forget to VOTE!! Someone will see the light.
How pretty much every state run by a Republican ends up.
the land of taxes, fees and datacenters.
If the power outage affected a data center theyd have fixed the problem in under 20 minutes
So why aren't people sabotaging these data centers yet?
