"The production, not my aunt" π she's a natural
All jokes aside, that's utterly horrifying.
WTF. I THOUGHT SHE SAID DRAGGED AT FIRST LIKE A JOKE BUT OMFG DRUGGED IS INSANE
Bloody hells, that is _horrifying_ .
I'm honestly surprised that her aunt would drug her for three months and change her face but NOT take her phone. Glad she escaped and made it home though π
Korea's obsession with cosmetic surgery seriously scared me so much already, I did NOT need more convincing π
Not as far as drugging and kidnapping but I had a friend from the states who visited Korea with her family. They took her on a βsightseeing activityβ which turned out to be a plastic surgery clinic, where they had already booked a consultation for procedures THEY thought would be necessary to βfixβ her. The levels of lookism there is dystopian.
I cant believe production would steal this poor woman's phone
Yet another casually horrific phenomenon from South Korea that's worthy of a film adaptation. First Parasite, then Squid Game, now Korean Makeover.
I need A LOT more context
This is definitely considered a crime. right?
Everyoneβs faces dropping only for the blonde lady to save it is so funny but at the same time Jesus Christβ¦..
The way she said that while smiling gently as if itβs not so unhinged. π I had to repeat it twice to make sure I didnβt misheard.
She needs to sue and get her aunt in prison. Doesn't that count as mutilation
This actually happens more often than you'd think. My Venezuelan friend had a similar experience where she went to the dentist and woke up with several procedures done to her body.
A true horror story
They reacted more to the phone thing than they did the face thing
I genuinely could not believe that story when I heard it for the first time, and I still can't, what do you MEAN!? THAT'S THE PLOT OF A HORROR MOVIE!
korean here, yes it's THAT CRAZY. my mom seriously considers plastic surgery trips for gifts sometimes. but i think for her it's completely innocent... because that's what she believes would make me happy as a girly girl. i like my face. but the beauty standards are horribly toxic and a lot of daily pressure happens to change yourself. koreans openly speak about family members weight for example. edit: not that i've heard of people drugging their family members before! that is not normal and completely insane. i'm getting a few people denying what i'm saying because they think i'm saying that's the part that is normal, and no, i'm just saying i'm not surprised in the slightest it could go that far. and if i'm not surprised, that's a problem. i will not stop speaking about this just because you guys who claim you are also korean don't think it's that normalized. you've seriously never heard of this? then you don't get out much.
i was like "oh gimmarco cool- TAYLOR TOMLINSON?!!?!" also that is deffo illegal omg what
