Every farrier I’ve met has been stars and bars above every trainer I’ve worked with. Their backs depend on the horses to cooperate, and the horses feet depend on the farrier to be able to get the work done!

My back hurts watching farriers work
I drove 260km to get a retired farrier for a trim on my nervous mares hooves. It was her first time and I know how important it is. He did a marvellous job and she stood for every trim after that.

As someone wise once said: don’t punish the behavior you want to see. This was a great way to make this a calm experience in the future by showing the foal it doesn’t hurt.
