Crazy it's his first smash video in the last 6 years.
It's fantastic to see you bring smaller games from the "Smash-Like" Community to light and give them a platform to gain an audience!
Half a decade has gone by since Alpharad's last smash video. Time truly flies.
This game isn't out yet, but I convinced them to have a playtest go live this weekend on Steam!!! Sooooooooooooooooooo hope this helps: /app/4485570/Punch_Upon_a_Time/ not sponsored btw, i just like the game :D
this implies alpharad UNBEATABLE video is a possibility
There's another platform fighter that released recently: ROYALTY FREE-FOR-ALL The roster is made of public domain characters, all the art is hand-drawn, & only uses 6 attacks. If Alpharad is serious about boosting indie games, I _really_ hope he spotlights that one because the devs are adding new characters soon.
2:32 no joke just seeing Brawl Charizard in the edit made me think “was this edited by Brawlternative?” Checked the description and lo and behold, there he is
It’s so cool to see you bring smaller games in the Platform Fighting Community to light and give it an audience!
Damn, the description even mentions Steam Cleaning. Real big day for us Alpharad old heads.
I like wolf named "What do you think of my jarona?"
maiden and spell please... the community needs something like this qwqqq
In Stars and Time is one of the most fascinating time loop games I've ever played. It does such an expert job at endearing you to the world and it's characters, it takes such a simple premise and really runs wild with it. It has what i wouldn't consider one of the most interesting protagonists of any game I've ever played, seeing their arc play out through the game is so incredibly well handled.
1:19 I am begging with all of my soul please check out Katana Zero, it’s such a well made game that deserves wayyyyy more love 😭🙏
Welcome back Steam Cleaning. ❤️🩹
I don't know if you like roguelikes or strategy games, but 2 very good ones that aren' well known are Brutal Orchestra and Starvaders. Genuinely 2 of the best games I've played recently. As for fighting games, there's a really goofy one called BOPL Battle if you want to goof off with friends and YOMI Hustle if you like fighting games but can't master the inputs. Heironimous Bosch's Brutal Orchestra: You play as Nowak, a recently deceaced human who just arrived at what you believe is purgatory. You and your party of discarded beings traverse purgatory using the blood of your enemies (called pigment) to cast your attacks. Starvaders: What would happen if you combined Slay The Spire with Space Invaders? This game. The core gameplay is that you fight hordes of aliens on a square grid. These aliens slowly traverse downwards through the grid, trying to reach your "base". As you defeat levels, you get to add cards to your deck and gain passive effects through artifacts. BOPL Battle: This is a really goofy "fighting" game in which you play as a slime, pick 3 different weapons and battle other slimes while on circular platforms. You can climb walls and ceilings and every weapon has a bunch of interactions. There are basic stuff like grenades and arrows but you also got magnets, a shrink and growth ray, thrusters, invisibility, black holes and a lot more. Just a little game to have a good time with your friends. YOMI Hustle: This plays as a mix of a traditional fighting game and a strategy game. You pick your character, the opponent picks theirs and you get put in an arena to fight, except, it goes by turns. Every "turn" happens whenever a player is able to input an action and you can see every move your character and the opponent's character can use. If you play it correctly and are able to read what your opponent is gonna do you can get some absolutely incredible combos going. At the end of the fight, the fight is replayed in real time, showing what happened without the turns interrupting and these fights end up turning like something you'd see in an anime or in a stick figure animation from a while ago. There's also A TON of modded support, both for styles and for custom characters in case you wanna try something less "vanilla"
I think playing Cassette Beasts would be good, its similar to Pokemon, but instead of capturing monsters, you record them on cassettes and transform into them. It has multiplayer where you can play alongside each other and team up to do raid battles or trade, or you can battle each other. Its a really fun game, and a sequel was announced not too long ago. Would love to see you and Jaiden play it!
Honestly, i'm so down with more indie games like this getting a spotlight on the channel to get more eyes on great games. I remember back in the day, it was these videos that introduced me to games like Freedom Planet and A hat in time, both of which are bangers. A game I want to highlight for anyone reading this comment would be Bug Fables. In simple terms, Bug Fables is if nintendo made A thousand year door 2, and in many ways, I think it surpasses that original game. The combat takes the paper mario style, except you control 3 different party members across the whole game, all with their own unique character, personality and abilities they can do battle. By only focusing on these 3, it helps you to get more connected with them as characters as the story progresses. As for the combat, it means each character has a bunch of different builds you can make based around that specific characters strength and skills. The way you get skills and create builds is also done with the same badge system present in the original paper mario games.
Crazy that there’s a stage that allows you to battle on a chess board!
You should try Nine Sols, it’s a really cool MetroidVania with a parry based combat system that combines the religion of Taoism with sci-fi to make a sort of Taopunk aesthetic
the unofficial return of the "NOT" series is something I've been craving
