am4 is still alive baby

AMD's long term support for AM4 was such a big W for everybody. The 5800X3D is like the CPU equivalence of the GTX 1080ti.
The fact that they are still supporting it is insane, and it has saved me so much money... not to mention that when I did upgrade, I was able to pass on my old stuff to a friend who is on disability and cannot afford anything, so he now has a good enough computer that does more than the bare minimum, and I did not have to spend a fortune to have a great computer
13:41 go down memory lane? sorry man I don't think I can afford that today
We built my grandson a AM4 computer with a B550 board for christmas, six months later the board went out, sent it in for warranty repair, and it broke again three boots into being reinstalled. At that point I wanted to throw that board in the trash so I pulled out my old B350 board, updated the bios, slapped his 5800XT in there and have had no issues since. Coolest socket line ever!
lol that segue to the sponsor gave me whiplash with young Linus
Feels wild to hear AM4 called old 😭 I still use and probably still will be on AM4 for while
3:00 ah yes, the 4070 ti is very relatable to us consumers 😔
Nice, Your Dusting off doing actual Tech tips again. Keep it up.

The 5800x3d will go down as one of the greatest gaming chips of all time. It honestly feels like it gets more respect now than the original FX chips did Edit: no, not Bulldozer, the *original* FX. Ryzen wasn’t the first time AMD surpassed Intel
i appreciate that the intro is in dark mode, considering i'm watching this at 1AM
Honestly, a lot of recent LTT content has seemed very out of reach due to stagnation with hardware pricing and the all-in rush for AI, a product that me and many other gaming enthusiasts actively dislike. I think more content like this, which demonstrates older hardware that is more affordable, without actively being focused on how terrible stuff is nowadays, would be nice to see.
I have this motherboard since summer 2017. It run ryzen 1600, 3700x and currently 5700x3d. I love how long it works for me and how much it allowed me to upgrade form original config.
I loved the ability to upgrade AMD CPUs. I upgraded from a 1700 to a 5600 years later and it really stretched the life of the system.
7:50 why are the numbers on the right sight not sharp like left
wow, we're so early, it feels wrong
6:57 why did the x570E get crunchy screenshot?
Am4 is still goat in 2026, Keep it up LTT❤
