Betta fish are often seen resting on leaves near the water’s surface. These leaves can provide a convenient resting spot, especially because bettas have a special labyrinth organ that allows them to breathe air directly from the surface. By resting near the surface, they can conserve energy while still having easy access to air. #BettaFish #FishFacts #AnimalFacts #Aquarium #Nature #Shorts

Keeping them in tiny bowls or jars is cruel. They always say "They are happy in small ponds" But they deserve more space. True, the males fight but be kind...
If there is a hotel nearby, they'll use their dad's credit card and sleep there!
They lay on submerged leaves. They will dry out and die on the exposed surface flora.
Bro bought a leaf hammock just to take 14-hour naps! 🍃😴 IKEA in the wild🐠🐠🐠🐠
Me hopping in bed after work and a shower 😂
So you’re telling me these diva fish are gonna lie dramatically on a leaf, basically saying “draw me like one of your French guppies, Jack”
Usually, I don't recommend doing this for Bettas, get floating plants like hornworts for Bettas or a hammock for Bettas to rest and not dry out
Those small tanks are just awful for those betas, holy those people are irresponsible pet owners
Seriously I did not know this I will try it❤
I have had aquarium fish all my life and had Betas as a child and I had no idea they could breath air. I learned something.
My AI is so emotional after seeing this video 😂
They do rest on a leaf or other items. Its good for the labyrinth organ when the water is low on oxygen too
They also use this as a form of defense because they literally live in small puddles in the wild which makes them extremely aggressive towards other Betas so they hide on the tops of leafs
I seen one of them teaching other ones how to fight! He was a Master- Beta
Nope👎🙅 your Plant to high bro beta Fish try to jump😢😢
Absolutely not. They want to rest below the water line, not above it.
What about Alpha and Sigma fish?
Sea creatures including fish of all shapes and sizes do sleep or (rest), lying flatly to one-side propped up by something holding them into one spot. They also use cavernous bodies in rock formations to make use of its space to escape detection while at rest.
I have clearly been in the presence of some neglectful betta fish owners.
I always wondered how they can just sit in cups without any way to add oxygen to the water
