During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, comedy legend Robin Williams delivered a darkly comedic take on Michael Jackson's infamous use of Propofol as a sleep aid. Williams pointed out the sheer absurdity of the situation, noting that Propofol is a heavy surgical anesthetic designed for major medical procedures in hospitals, not something anyone should use for a casual night of rest. This short clip captures Williams' brilliant ability to find dark humor in tragic pop culture events, showcasing his rapid-fire delivery and sharp observational skills. This video is shared strictly for historical, educational, and entertainment purposes. It does not endorse or promote the misuse of prescription medication or substance abuse. That analogy is fucking hilarious
Jacksonβs personal doctor was charged with manslaughter due to gross negligence after his death.
The fact that a comedian had to explain the absurdity of using heavy surgical anesthesia for insomnia is still wild.
This is one actor I miss not being here anymore. Robin was a breath of fresh air for humanity.
Chemo joke is actually so spot on
Robin Williams was a true genius in his craft.
Had it for a surgery. I remember surgeon saying count from 10 and then I was in a chair with family reading newspapers around me. Felt like 5 seconds passed. Scary stuff
RIP Michael Jackson and Robin Williams
Take note here, Robin never insulted Michael so much as he used analogy to highlight how crazy his doctor was
The problem with using that to sleep is you don't "sleep". Your unconscious. Your brain does not do any sleep cycle. No rem, no recovery. No restoration.
I love that description.
Miss this man dearly RIP Robin Williams
Sedation is not the same as sleep. Sleep restores.
That's such an honest way to describe the power of this drug!
I miss this guy so much..and every now and then it makes me sad to know he was so sad..the world really does seem darker when some go..
We use propofol in the ICU to sedate patients that are on mechanical ventilation.
You'll always be missed Robin Williams
that stuff is so powerful that after a routine colonoscopy i woke up, stood up straight and walked out of the hospital on my own with no cane. 2 hrs later i was back to my normal not being able to walk without double brace canes and hunched over from my spinal disease. It was the first time in over 5 yrs that i was up straight and walked normal. I felt like a billion dollars for 2 hrs
I had it once. It burns your veins going in and the burning slowly spreads through your body and right when you try to stop it, you black out and boom lights back on. Like no hangover, just awake. It's like skipping time.
Using propofol to sleep is insane
