When windows said windows 10 would be the last operating system they would ever make... Feels more prophetic than any of us gave credit for.
Had to switch over to Linux this last week because after a Windows update my laptop just wouldn't fully boot into Windows without crashing, after all the other hiccups it was more than time to switch.
I don't even have an eco mode on my desktop or integrated graphics and windows 11 is deleting my amd drivers to replace with generics anyway. I've had to reinstall a couple times since the spring

It will in fact delete them even if your not on eco mode. I had this happen to me twice so I had to play around in settings to turn off it's ability to auto-update drivers.
I'm almost at my breaking point with Windows. Every update they push out to Windows only seems to make it worse somehow, and with me being a Windows Insider it is way worse cause they push out little "bug" fixes that only brings more than it fixed. I will be trying multiple Linux installs to see which one I like then I will most likely be leaving Windows.

My laptop has been treating its internal nvme as a USB drive. Luckily Linux still works on it, even with this weird quirk.
At this point, the microslop is begging people to ditch windowslop and switch to Linux
I saw this coming 5 years ago and turned off integrated graphics
I didn’t even have eco mode on my ROG Ally. And even though it doesn’t have a dedicated card to delete drivers off of, instead they just deleted all my AMD drivers and called it a day.
This is a common 'smart' feature that is the result of good intentions + a system built of pieces from different software manufacturers. Android does stuff like this all the time. 'We noticed that you're not using these apps' (that you *are* using) "so we disabled their permissions."
Yeah, i had this issue when microsofty kept trying to install its own driver version of my apu, which was buggy and constantly crashed. Took me a while to figure it out. Fun times...
Since 2000, Microsoft was quite agitated on the idea that people use IE(Edge) only to install preferred browser. So they decided to change that, now Edge as well as Windows exist only to download different OS.
Recently made the switch to Linux myself. Fedora KDE to be precise. Other than a bit of tweaking to get the wi-fi working, it's working great.
