The number of adverts in this video is ridiculous. It’s close to an exercise in how much product placement can I get away with
Yay, more extension lead fires!!!
Those sockits look great. The number of times I've had to remove a socket completely while redecorating is ridiculous. Being able to remove the socket while leaving the terminations alone is a fantastic idea.
02:43 The irony of that Product Safety Report written in Chinglish? "...sock the user..."
Damm. I’ve been wanting to get one of them sockets for my bathroom 😅
This is like 50% clickbait and 50% ads
Years ago I had a new fuse board fitted. The fuses to the kitchen kept tripping. I checked all the connections, all appliances, pulled all the sockets out and checked them. Eventually traced the fault to a defective 2.5 cable imbedded in the staircase wall. The cable was literally smouldering when I got to it. If I hadn't had a new fuse board with more sensitive fuses the place would have been ablaze. Just a defect in the cable.
Typical UK Government lack of foresight, instead of releasing Plug in panels at the beginning of the year (a tried and proven SAFE technology), they wait until after the hottest and brightest summer on record to release them! Bloody idiots in charge as usual!🤬🤬
so plug-in solar is legal but plug-in batteries aren't?
2:48 and we wouldn't want to sock a user, would we?!
From 0:18 when the adverts and intro reel started and the branded caps and the sponsor of the branded caps and the competition callouts and the call to action to click links and the "bonus stories" and the learner of the week and the Quickwire mugs and arhghghg my head hurts with all this crap! It's barely watchable!!! Literally 40 seconds of just running through an enormous list of people who sponsor / adverts... I just can't cope - always loved the channel but it's getting ridiculous, people just want honest "me to you" content not this dense low level opportunity to fill every millisecond with an advert for something or someone! Sorry I know I'll get shouted down for my comment (like "just skip forward" or "you don't have to watch" or "are you okay" etc) but I don't care now
Click bait title
The Gov needs to give the IET amd the rest of the protectionists another huge boot in the gonads for failing to include the battery element of plug-in solar in the regs update. Not worth having for many until there's cheap battery storage, because most people are at work in the daytime. It just encourages people to do it anyway unofficially.
The real danger with electrical shock is amperage, not voltage.
Gov allows destruction of its nation daily!
I'm amazed that any electrician working for 40 years in the industry hasn't been hit by a 240V shock on at least one, and probably more than one occasions. It just seems highly improbable. You have to be extremely unlucky to be killed by a 240V shock if you are in good health. That's not the same for those working with high voltage lines. Looking at the stats, it seems that the great majority of electrocutions (to be clear, electrocution is a fatal shock) occur in industrial or transmission type environments where multiple kV or hundreds of kV are involved. That's a whole different order of magnitude of danger given the far fewer number people who work in the related environments. For more modest voltages, electrically induced fires, mostly due to misuse of appliances, like draping clothes over space heaters, is the main danger, although faulty devices, extension lead overheating and so on all play their part.
That's not what the headline says, you told people double sockets were dangerous, plain and simple.

When I read the title of this video I thought the government was going to send someone into my house to smash all my two gang sockets!
Thought out the 90's i was belted 21 times and one of them bounce between L2 on L3 on a 1930's DB at 02:30 hours. Working a full 24 hour day! The fun back on the 90"s
