The problem with the crusher pistons freezing until you put a block might be because the base of the piston is on the moving part, and the game doesn't tend to like that. Flipping the pistons around should fix it.
Tank steering forces the sticky wheels to slip, which they don't like to do, especially as you increase the stickiness to compensate for added weight of cargo. I'd highly recommend a 4 wheeled vehicle with 4 wheel steering and standard suspension, and adjust stickiness based on weight. Hope this helps!
The jumpy guys and the farmbots dont actually attack your farm, they attack you, so not sitting in your farm is the best way to get rid of them
Heads up Scrapman: in the level 7 of the mines, there's a scripted event where a vehicle is precariously placed on a ledge as you exit the elevator to your left. DO NOT APPROACH THE VEHICLE. It's a very decent vehicle comprised of expensive parts, you will want to save it. If your character approaches the vehicle too much, it will fall off the ledge and be destroyed. Instead, attach a long rod to your mining vehicle with a hook at the end and try to fish it from as far away as possible.
You should use the clay gun to make some "Natural" defenses.

i'm pretty sure that in the purple raid there where too many bots to run the pathfinding in parallel and they started to take turns for their AI to run, which would explain why most of them randomly stopped and didn't do anything

I suppose a lot of people brush past the dialogue, but the game really shows you the world of scrap mechanic. Phae telling us the world of employment and how they tend to be extremely strict on free thinking and having to abide by the way things are already in order, Lorenzo possibly having been well raised by his mother to overcome the hardest of obstacles and brave against all odds to survive.. and Hubert being a nitwit for the most part as all he knows is how to farm... but shows clear clingyness when there's safety around him, it shows how the guy never expected anything like this to happen. Even before chapter 2 or even survival mode, i personally was really intrigued and invested in the world building of scrap mechanic and how everything connects

There are 3 little statues on the cave level where you fought the trash bot. If you follow the monorail thing (dont use it) just before it goes into the boss fight room Theres the farm bot and character statues below a shipping container 😊

Before you go to level 7 in the mine, make a huge, long hook to your mining vehicle, because there's a secret vehicle on a platform at the beginning of the level that elseway it'll be lost forever if your character, not vehicle, gets too close, and you also get a very good mining and fighting vehicle

You should make another set of swing arm saw blade things on the back of your farm and the base of your sniper tower.
