I got called out to work on this mature kudu bull after the owner noticed him limping. The owner sent me a video, and after watching him walk, I agreed—we needed to get on this quickly. I was able to dart him with sedatives and get him down safely. After a short exam, the reason for the limp became pretty obvious. He had broken off the toe of his hoof, exposing the soft, sensitive tissue underneath. If you’ve ever torn a fingernail or toenail down into the sensitive tissue, you can imagine how uncomfortable it would be to walk around on an injury like this. I carefully examined the hoof to make sure there wasn’t a deeper injury or another problem hiding underneath. While I was working, I also found several additional cracks in the hoof that showed me where some of the weak areas were. I was able to work on those areas as well and hopefully prevent another piece of the hoof from breaking off in the future. I cleaned and treated the injured area, bandaged the hoof, and got this big guy back on his feet. This is a good example of why paying attention to subtle changes in your animals matters. A limp may not look like much from a distance, but sometimes there’s a significant injury underneath. We’ll be keeping a close eye on him and making sure that hoof continues to heal. #TheWildlifeVet #DrSamWilkinson #Kudu #Veterinarian #ExoticWildlifeVet

One of the first things they teach you at my job, USE ALL YOUR SENSES.
like guiding a drunk friend 2 in the morning lol
Them hooves sound like steel on that grinder! Great job doctoring him up!
This reminds me of the Hoof GP. He trims cows hooves and when they get a problem like this they get a block on the healthy claw to keep weight off the damaged one
You helped him so much! Great work, Doc!
Question, do you actually know what a bird's eye view is??? Lol 😅😅😅
Your so awesome! But quick question. When you we doing bloodwork from his ear and you injected it back into him, isn't that dangerous due to the excess air? Just a genuine question, I'm curious, not judging.
This animal looks so beautiful and impressive, it almost looks fake. Wildlife is so beautiful.
Doing that work while wearing a Rolex submariner is an insane flex my guy lol
You had me sweating!! That grinder was way too close to that thumb. 😮
You’re handling that grinder like a pro, that’s a dangerous tool and you’re controlling it well brother
That was a pov camera shot not bird eye view shot
Nate the hoof guy is branching out...
Such a beautiful creature I love kudus
Just sticking the O2 right in one of his nostrils made me giggle

NICE WATCH! WHAT MODEL OF ROLEX IS IT? THANKS.
That medicine that you put in the dart wound hole works literal miracles
