San4San is the gang name of a Haitian Gang in the game. “San” comes from the French “sang” which means blood. San is the Kreyòl (Haitian Creole) word for blood. So the gang’s name is a combination of English and Haitian Creole meaning “Blood for Blood”. Since Jason doesn’t know his name, but knows the gang affiliation his prompt is “San4San”. If for example Jason finds out the NPC’s name is Toutsaint (Pronounced Too-San) I’m willing to bet it will automatically update from San4San to Tousaint. I may be misremembering but I recall that this feature was present in RDR2, NPCs Arthur would not know the name of would have some kind of place-holder name that gets updated once Arthur learned the NPC’s name.
