He has both. Skill and intelligence. Insane combo, how could you not letting your kid do his favorite things π
Whatβs the movie called?
I cleaned pools and mowed grass to fund my dirtbike riding days as a kid. I hated little obnoxious piss stains that used daddyβs credit card to buy all their shit and didnβt give a fuck. My bike and my pickup truck was my prized possessions when I bought the bike at age 13 and the truck at age 15with my own money I made working my ass off in southeast Texas in the summer. I learned every inch of both machines. I couldnβt afford a mechanic for either so I became the mechanic. I wasnβt the fastest, but I think I appreciated my bike and truck more than anyone else at 3 palms or ultimate or whatever other track I was riding at.
My 6 year old son loves to climb... as I'm sure most kids do. One day last year, right after he turned five, we were at a festival and they had a 30 foot inflatable rock climbing wall. He had two minutes to get to the top and killed it. I moved furniture from around the stairs. So he could climb on the outside edge of the railing. He had his birthday last week. And we've installed a fingerboard above the doorway in the kitchen. He likes to climb up in the doorway, and now he has a place to grab. I saw this kid do two pull ups completely unprompted last night before I went to bed. I just climbed up and was like, "dad, look at me". I have a talent for music. So does my daughter. I feel it's my job as a parent to notice the things that they love to do, things they're good at, and help them achieve goals that favor those talents as much as I possibly can. I made it pretty far as a local rock star when I was young. I'm proud of that time and I have no regrets about it but I do wonder how far it could have gone if I had more support from my family. β€
Itβs a remake of DIRTBIKE KID from the 90βs
