As night fell, a stray cat quietly stood guard over its icy friend by the roadside. It doesn't understand death, only that its friend will never wake up again. Though the world can be harsh, divine compassion never forsakes a single life. In front of its quiet companion, I carefully picked up the departed kitten to bring it to a peaceful resting place. Deep in the earth, under fresh soil. Joining hands, I chant "Namo Ratnasikhin Tathagata." May the Buddha's boundless mercy guide these souls out of suffering and fear, sowing seeds of liberation so they may awaken in joy and peace in their next life.
