Honestly, there are solid benefits to teaching them that the rattle means treats. I've inadvertently done the same with mine, but it becomes usedul when I don't know where they are, or if they scamper outside when they shouldn't.

Another thing, is that cats are never there when you need them but magically appear whenever there’s a situation that they absolutely do not need to be involved in 😭🤣 LOL

I kept my cat's treats in a drawer with a lot of other things and whenever I open it, even though the treats aren't there anymore, she just comes next to me meowing

My dog learned the teams app end call sounds and would launch a "please play now" routine any time a call ended

Uyen really gave her cats a sixth sense when it comes to shaky things

That's okay, I think everyone who's ever had a cat has done that in accident lol, the association can still change! 😊 You could try pairing the real "snacky sound", and only the real one, with a voice command (it doesn't have to be a true command, mine is just "kitty, kitty, kitty!" with a specific tone and cadence), and if that's consistent, soon they'll start ignoring the sound if it comes without the call. 👍
