Beardsley is well remembered by Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle fans. He was sold by Liverpool, he didn't ask to move on, that's the difference. Similar situation to Pat Jennings - played for Spurs and then Arsenal and then returned to Spurs and loved by both sets of fans because he never asked for moves, he was sold when Spurs were relegated and returned to Spurs at the end of his Club career to keep fit for Northern Ireland's 1986 World Cup campaign.
