My wife owns a model 3 and i own a seal. But everytime i wake up in morning, i notice my seal is gone and the her tesla still in driveway😂😂
10 months on and I am getting smiles as i get in my BYD seal too , still makes me smile every day I get in, the power, the comfort , just second to none really ….. I’d also recommend this to anyone and I am not getting paid for that comment lol
I'm really enjoying my Seal Performance, super quick , comfortable, quiet and really well put together ,such a joy to drive 😊
For fast charging you need to get the batteries to 38Celsius. This is done by activating PREHEATING option on your car and fast accelerate and decelerate 15-20 times. Even at 4Celsius the battery will get to 20Celsius fast. I have managed 153kwh charging in summer.
The BYD Seal Excellence is an often overlooked better alternative to a lot of other EVs. So capable and pretty damn good looking too in my opinion. Extremely happy with mine 👍.
It's a beauty
BYD started selling EVs in Indonesia last year and now every single new car on the road is a BYD. All new cars are BYD. Nobody can compete with the value - same price as a cheap toyota, but you get a futuristic luxury car that's better than a Tesla. Arguably better than a Mercedes. More features, better software, more power, amazing build quality. They come in all sizes too. I don't see traditional carmakers being able to catch up or compete here, I think they're all toast now.
Had mine a couple of weeks now and absolutely love it.
FYI - As Tesla superchargers are normally only 400V the max charge speed you'll see on the Seal is ~100Kw on these due to BYD using 800V architecture. Temperature, along when SoC %, also has an impact on charging speed. In mild climate Australia, I normally get close to 150Kw when SoC is < 50-60%, it then starts to taper off after that which most EV's do.
you can adjust the wiper spray with a simple screwdriver turn
I have the seal design in the shadow green colour and it’s honestly a fantastic car! I absolutely love it and always look forward to driving it.
For peak charging speed, the battery needs to be almost empty and already up to temperature of about 30-35 degrees C. If both these conditions aren't met, you will never see peak speed.
If you need more luggage space then the BYD SEALION 7. BYD is great but at the moment their DC charging is slow. XPENG, POLESTAR, HYUNDAI/KIA (specific models) and SKODA do much better on DC charging speed.
I like it, but I like Xpeng cars more.
After all that do you still recommend??
Good review, glad you mentioned the air vents. Could never get my feet warm in the winter, blinded by vehicle lights from behind by the side mirrors that do not dim. Great car for daily use, power is good.

🇧🇷vou comprar o meu BYD SEAL , tbm eu gostei muito do seu vídeo parabéns 👊🏻
ive got mine being delivered in a week, be my first ev. hoping it lives up the hype and i actually see the possitives coming from a very economical diesel
I own a 490hp model 3 performance since december. I’m addicted to its speed and EV smoothness. Have tried the Seal, but here in the alps the LFP batteries have quite a slow charging speed/regen in the cold.
