In Tuner (2026), Niki and Harry arrive for a piano job, but the situation immediately turns into something else. A woman first asks whether they can fix a leaking toilet, and Harry has to explain that they are piano tuners, not plumbers. Then the real problem appears. Harry’s hearing aids are locked inside a safe, and he cannot remember the combination. The couple argues over the code, the anniversary, and whether someone should call a locksmith. Niki looks at the safe and says he may be able to help. What makes the moment different is how Niki approaches it. He does not treat the safe like a normal repair job. He listens closely and uses his sense of touch and hearing to detect tiny internal movements. For him, it is another version of tuning — finding the smallest sound that tells him what is happening inside. Tuner stars Leo Woodall as Niki White, a gifted piano tuner whose extraordinary hearing draws him into safecracking. In the U.S., the film is currently available to rent or buy on Amazon Video, Apple TV Store, and Fandango At Home; JustWatch does not currently list a subscription or free streaming option. Yo a movie showing someone learn how to do something from a YouTube tutorial is surprising cool to see. Feels so relatable
“This is the lock picking lawyer and today I have something special”
I love how this movie shows an intelligent person actually spending time to learn something and not just knowing everything already
Finally! An accurate depiction of learning a new skill! Spamming YouTube videos till it clicks and you finally get it.
"This is a Master Lock Safe, it can be opened with a Master Lock Safe."
Beethoven would disagree
Beethoven would have a metal rod connected from his piano to his mouth so that he could feel the vibrations of each note
What is ohnepixel doing 😭
The spin in the chair was absolutely a necessary step to unlocking the safe
Saw this randomly in a theater and really liked it. They pitched it as some kind of thriller with Dustin Hoffman; but he's not in it much and is as much of a romance as anything. It's pretty good.
Thats the moment a piano tuner gets a raise
This dialogue is so well written, it feels so real
Hello, locksmith here who works on those exact locks, no, you can not hear the tumblers, that has not been a thing since the 1800s, superman with stethoscope would not be able to hear the gate, because it does not touch the opening until all 3 or 4 are lined up and the final rotation allows the gate to drop. I hate how movies keep portraying this nonsense. Most are so similar it is hard to tell, but the backplate and dial together leads me to think that is a LeGuard 3 wheel lock.
I used to do this with those cheap locker padlocks in elementary school by touch. I was both a bit of a menace, and extremely useful when people forgot their code, lol.
This is how I learn everything
Was the hearing aid in the safe??
Tuner 2025. I watched it yesterday and it was freaking awesome
Dustin Hoffman is an amazing actor 👏 ❤
Picking locks is actually easy af depending on the lock.
Haven’t seen the show. Why does he wear earplugs all the time?
