After 30 years of existing, Dragonite, a pokemon that was created in Generation 1, defeated the strongest team in the format and finally got its first worlds win despite it being called mid the whole format! What an awesome conclusion to the first world championships.

My man Hiroshi was the first to give Takuma a standing applause, all smiles at the end even up to the awards ceremony. Both kings in their own right, both deserving of the title - but there could only be one. While Hiroshi may not be World Champ, he is Japan's reigning national champion and his plays are nothing short of genius. His semis G2 where he absolutely clowned Joao was nothing short of dominant.

A poetic ending to Big 6 v2
Takuma having to beat Big 6, arguably the strongest team in all of champions, and having to fight against Charizard -Y in G3, arguably the strongest mega in the entierity of champions so far felt like an in-game final boss moment, and he won with probabbly his favorite pokemon in his team mega D-nite, game 3 was the perfect showcase of why mega D-nite was there.
