The camera is the new typewriter. ChatGPT, create an image of an eagle in the early morning sun on a snow-capped mountain. (Done). But we shoot because we love it, and we do it for ourselves.
And here I am still holding onto my Pentax K5.
This is why I will just keep my existing gear (2 DSLRs and 2 Film SLRs). They work great and take fab photos. No need to upgrade at all
Last year I sold my old Canon 6D mk II DSLR and associated EF-S lenses and moved to the Canon mirrorless R6 mk II. I think this will be the last body upgrade I make as the R6 can do everything I need.
As a Sony APS-C shooter, Sony hasn't given me a single reason to buy native glass in years. Their APSC lineup feels completely abandoned on the lens side. 100% of my lens budget over the past year went straight to Viltrox—better specs, metal build, and actual innovation at half the price. If Sony buys Tamron just to lock down mounts instead of innovating, they're missing why third-party brands are winning.
How do you not know that Nikon is not a rapid camera releasing company? I’m happy with the fact that Nikon takes its time.
I wish someone would start to make 35mm film and somewhere to get it developed at a reasonably affordable price.
Unless your photography is putting food on your table, there is really little reason to buy a dedicated $1K plus camera, when the camera on your phone will do for most.
nikon is moving into cinema field .. for this reason the delay
I am looking forward to the release of the new OM-Pen camera. Recent releases from Lumix, GoPro, and now Insta360 intending to use the MFT mount, and a new Pen is great news after a couple of fairly quiet years. Those of us who love MFT are still buying gear, and MFT refuses to pass away. I notice Panasonic was one of the camera brands with sales increases, and I suspect a Pen camera will get OM back into positive territory.
The memory crisis is being talked about by virtually every youtube channel I watch, I think saying it's not being covered is an overstatement
